Dear All,
Just a little update on the Inkling Prints website.
I'm currently designing the site and I am hoping to have it up and running before the end of November. I previously said October, but I've decided to use a professional photographer to take some decent quality shots of my products. If however, there is anything you've seen on the blog that you like and would like to purchase, please do email me and I will give you further details. I have decided to offer a 20% discount on purchases above £30 - from now and when the online shop is up and running.
If you would like to be informed when the online shop is ready for customers and also to receive the discount code, please email me with your email address. My email address is kiran at inklingprints dot co dot uk Please replace the at with @ and the dot with . This is to prevent spam. Also, do email me with suggestions, comments, etc.
I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Fern inspired print on vintage napkin.
I'm going to try to get some more printing done today. I've not had the chance to create any new designs recently, but I'm hoping I'll have the time this weekend to get some done. I'm thinking along the lines of : kids & fruit.

Here is us at the Leicester crafts fair. It was a longish day. It wasn't great sales wise, but I guess it was good practise and a learning experience. I didn't sell much. None of my cushions sold which was kinda disappointing. Perhaps calling it the Arts Booter didn't help. Many of the other sellers also felt that the event wasn't promoted properly. But never mind! Better fairs to go to in future I hope! Thanks to everyone (especially my friends) who came to support me! :))

It's autumn once again. We're very lucky to live opposite a really lovely park. I just love everything about it. My husband Ben took this photo one lovely autumn morning. I love the colours. Inspiration for my next printing session.

I've been printing away like a mad person.
I'm excited about the fair this weekend, but I don't really understand why they've called it the Arts Booter. Like a car boot sale. Arts Booter link.
Are fairs worth the effort? I'm definitely looking forward to going to Cambridge! The organisers seem to know what they want to achieve out of it and they also know how to promote it. H@ndmade Cambridge link.
Anyway, they night is still young and I am full of yummy food my mum just cooked. ENERGY for more printing!

Wow, it's Monday again. I have 6 days before this arts and crafts fair in Leicester. Yesterday was spent printing on napkins and placemats. I have to say, I prefer coming up with designs rather than having to produce stock so I can sell. I like printing, but sketching a design, carving it up and then printing it for the very first time is just sooooooo much more fun and exciting. Thrilling almost! But, once all my prints have dried and I put everything together on the table, I do feel a sense of archievement. My hard work. I just hope people will like what they see. It's all a learning curve.
I had a great weekend. It was Diwali on Saturday (Hindus celebrate it - the festival of lights). There was a fireworks display and we went to watch it with our friends and went for a curry afterwards. Thanks guys! Happy times. Next time, I'll bring a camera.
Hope everyone has a good week.

I finally got round to printing more cushion covers. I reused the flower I used for my footstool. The palm inspired design is new. The palm motif is my mum's favourite. She beamed when I showed it to her. She's a star. She's been helping me out so much - with sewing and ironing and most of all, looking after Jill. I cannot ask for a better mum. I heart you mum (and you know it!!)! :)) Anyway, time for bed. I've been printing the whole of today - getting myself prepared for an arts fair that I'm going to in Leicester at the end of October. It'll be great to test the water and to see what the good people of Leicester think of my stuff and also, to get to meet some of the other (designers/artists/crafters whatever we call ourselves these days.)! For anyone interested in this Arts Fair, it's on At:
Curve - Leicester's new theatre
On
Sunday 25th of October
From
11am - 4pm.

I'm so in love with this new font I came across. So much that I want to use it as my logo. As you all know, I'm still toying with ideas, but I need to get some stamps made up, so I need to decide on a logo pretty soon... like by the end of this week... in 3 days! Anyone like this new font? Any thoughts/suggestions? Look very closely at this new font, do you see what I see?
