Starting and stopping

Do you ever feel like sometimes you just need to press the stop button and to go back from where you started? To go back to the basics when it was just you and that one thing? To go back to simplicity? I think that's the way I'm feeling at this moment. I started blogging from the moment I started printing. From little small lino blocks to slightly bigger ones and now, a few years down the road, I've gone digital with some of my work. It's a whole new world. The digital world. I'm not sure. It's definitely got it's plus points and the possibilities are endless but I still love creating new work. I'm not really getting a chance to do that so much at the moment. It's been about getting the right supplier, marketing and money. Having money to invest into buying stock etc. Wow, all I can say is, my head feels heavy! My shoulders are tight! It's so stressful. So yesterday, I put up some photos of some new designs on Facebook. I'm not sure. It was just an experiment. I love geometric designs but I think perhaps these were taking it too far. I actually did these awhile back but only just made them up yesterday. I think some people must have been like "Waaaaaaat! What are these?!?" and some perhaps found them to be "Yeah, these are okay" and some didn't like the colours too much! I'm not sure about them myself but I sometimes, experimenting can be fun, especially when sometimes, it can all be quite serious.

    1. Thanks Shyamala! I'm glad you like it. It's just very different from the things I usually come up with. By the way, just curious, do I know you??

  2. Hopefully once you get the supply train up and running, it will be up and running and you can get back to what you want to be doing. It seems like it would be pretty hard for the artist personality to be into the business and technical bits of it.

I love the new designs. They are definitely a departure, but I think it's great to try new things. You learn something either way right? Either you learn you can do a new thing, or you learn you like sticking to the organic bits. No one ever broadened their base by doing nothing!

I would also like to say that in this day and age, I think it's so brave to share things that you are uncertain of. It's hard enough not to be sure *you* like something, but then when you hear a bunch of people talk about whether or not they like it... It's one of the downsides of the digital age to me. People feel so free to yuck your yum.

I look forward to seeing what else you have lined up.
